Master Your Paragliding Reserve Parachute: A Vital Skill
Packing your own reserve parachute is essential, but knowing when and how to deploy it is absolutely crucial for your safety. If you find yourself descending at 60 miles per hour, it only takes 11 seconds to cover 1,000 feet, making quick reactions vital to saving your life. In high-speed spins, your visual reference is lost, and executing the reserve deployment sequence under these challenging conditions depends on your level of preparation.
Practice, practice.
Practicing in real scenarios is invaluable, and there’s no substitute for repeated drills in a controlled environment. Our Reserve Parachute Seminar is designed to prepare you for exactly these situations. The seminar’s main goals are to help you:
Gain the confidence to repack your own reserve parachute.
Understand how reserve parachutes for paragliding are designed and function.
Learn when and how to throw your reserve parachute in emergencies.
Know what steps to take after deploying your reserve.

Hands-on Repacking Sessions
Many pilots hesitate to repack their own reserve, thinking they can always rely on an instructor. But imagine you’re on a paragliding holiday, and someone accidentally pulls your reserve handle—leaving your parachute exposed and grounded for the rest of your trip. Learning to repack your reserve ensures you won’t be caught off-guard and gives you the confidence to handle your gear under any circumstances.
More importantly, the ability to execute a successful deployment under any condition can only come from consistent practice. Our seminar uses a unique paragliding simulator, where you’ll sit in your own harness, simulating real-life scenarios to give you the feel of handling your own equipment. You’ll practice deployment sequences in difficult positions, preparing you for worst-case scenarios.
We also have a zip line simulation, which spans 70 meters over water at a height of 60 meters, giving you the experience of a fast-moving deployment in a controlled, yet realistic, environment.
